One of the biggest regrets you can have is to look back over your code, particularly old code and find that it lacks documentation. A good tip here is to help force yourself to do at least a little documentation when you develop the code using the ‘Subdiagram Label’. This is particularly useful in things like State-machines when it’s good practice to document what is happening in each state.

You can change your LabVIEW options to have this label displayed by default. In LabVIEW, go to Tools >> Options >> Block Diagram>> Check Box >> Show Subdiagram labels visible by default.
