The EVolution Test System has been selected by automotive technology innovator, Protean Electric, to provide further test validation for their pioneering in-wheel motors.
The test system will be installed as part of the company’s existing testing & validation facility at Farnham.
With no existing automotive industry standard test program for in-wheel motors, Protean has developed its own propriety design validation system. Collating national and regional legislative requirements from across the globe, along with individual manufacturers’ standards and guidelines.
Mark McDonnell, Product Validation Manager, Protean Electric said, ‘We have chosen EVolution as part of our validation test solution because of its flexibility to integrate with our preferred existing infrastructure and equipment as well as the adaptability it offers for us to modify the test system as our requirements evolve.’
Designed by Austin Consultants as a comprehensive flexible platform for validation testing of either components or full electric vehicle powertrain, EVolution provides deterministic high-resolution, high-frequency data acquisition and control over a wide range of test scenarios. In response to the accelerating rate of EV technology innovation, its efficient services-oriented architecture offers a highly adaptable and configurable solution that is able to easily accommodate new and evolving test requirements. The system is quick to deploy and can be modified by the end user, without the need for time-consuming redevelopment or upgrades, reducing both the time to first test and minimizing the total cost of ownership, and further expediting the innovation cycle.
The deployment at Protean Electric is another endorsement of the EVolution Test System’s versatility and ability to deliver automotive manufacturers the future-proof platform that the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry demands.
